Due to the coronavirus, it is currently difficult to go outside because of Pokémon GO. We show you how to hatch eggs from home.
This is the current situation: Those playing Pokémon GO have been struggling in recent days. Travel restrictions due to the coronavirus affect the game and Niantic has already made various adjustments.
Hatching eggs is difficult when you’re not supposed to go outside. Therefore, we show you the best ways to still rack up your kilometers.
Hatch eggs without going outside – Here’s how
This is the requirement: In order to hatch eggs from home, you should have Adventure Sync enabled. You can activate this feature in the settings of Pokémon GO. This way, the app counts every step you take, whether your app is open or not.
What’s great about Adventure Sync: This feature records every movement you make. Even the distance from your bed to the sofa will be credited. So if you live in a larger apartment or even a multi-story house, you can gain some meters even on the shortest routes.
Take advantage of this: In many houses, Pokémon GO has somewhat poorer GPS reception. You can use this to your advantage, as your character will run around without you having to do anything.
To do this, it’s best to place your phone with the app open on a table and let your character run. If you notice that he is moving around at the beginning, this can quickly rack up several kilometers for your account.
Even if your character isn’t moving around, you should at least try it for a short time. It might still credit you some kilometers.
Exercise in your apartment: Gyms are closed and going outside isn’t strictly necessary – it’s a good time to do some exercise in your own four walls. This also helps you gain kilometers in Pokémon GO.
If you go on a treadmill or have an elliptical trainer, just put your phone in your pocket. The fitness app linked to Pokémon GO tracks your movement and credits it to Pokémon GO as well. You probably won’t earn as many kilometers as you would while jogging, but it definitely makes a difference.
Are there devices that can help? There are several devices that make your phone vibrate, creating steps. However, this is against the Pokémon GO guidelines and can result in a ban in the worst case.
So, even in these difficult times, you should stick to tried-and-true methods. In some cases, this is even possible from your own four walls. From there, you can currently also catch various Psychic Pokémon.
Keep in mind that there is currently a risk of infecting yourself and others with the coronavirus. The Federal Center for Health Education recommends staying at home as much as possible, maintaining distance from others, and avoiding crowds. Niantic has taken various measures to allow you to play Pokémon GO from home.
