In Fortnite: Battle Royale, the developers have deliberately hidden an unreachable chest. Now a clever player has managed to open the box anyway.
What is the deal with the unreachable chest? At the location Dusty Divot, since Season 4, there has been an ice cream truck sunk in the ground. As you approach the vehicle, you hear the enticing noise that signals a nearby chest. However, no matter how you turn it, the chest is unreachable as it is under the vehicle.
The dilemma with the chest: Back then, ice cream trucks were equipped with absurdly high hit points due to a challenge. They had 100,000 hit points and were therefore hardly destroyable.
Later, the life energy was reduced again, but whoever smashed the truck also destroyed the chest. No matter what you did, the damned chest could not be reached or opened.
The whole action was probably a nasty troll by Epic to trick their players.
Player finds a way to the loot
Whenever something seems impossible, there will be people who will try until they achieve their goal. Therefore, a player named Hanzo36 has managed to open the box.
How to get to the chest anyway? Hanzo36 built a ramp with a jump pad at the southern edge of the crater. Then he activated a shadow stone found there. This turned him into a ghostly form that can pass through walls.
However, the time as a shadow is usually not enough to reach the chest, but with his jump pad he was able to glide over the crater to the truck in time. There, he wavered through the vehicle in ghost form and was able to loot the chest. A video of the action can be found on Reddit.
What’s in the chest? Unfortunately, it is just an ordinary chest. It can contain cool gold loot or some gray crap. Whether the whole effort is worth it remains uncertain. However, the certainty of having accomplished a seemingly impossible task should at least represent an ideal reward.
