What does the Steam ID look like? The Steam ID can vary a bit. But the most common one is the so-called “64 bit ID” which consists of a total of 17 digits.
Where can I see my Steam ID? If you want to view your identification number, you can do it like this:
- Step 1: Click on the Steam username at the top right
- Step 2: Go to “Account details”: Under your account name at the very top, you will find the Steam ID

What is a Steam ID? The ID allows your Steam account to be uniquely identified. Just like your Steam account name, you cannot change the ID. Even Steam employees cannot change your identification number.
What you can change, however, is your profile name on Steam. You can change that in the Steam profile settings under the option “Edit profile”.
Why do I need the Steam ID? Your Steam account is linked to the ID. Therefore, some analytics websites and third-party tools use the Steam ID to provide you with information about the corresponding account.
However, you should always pay attention to the reliability of the website to prevent your data from being misused.
