Hardened bricks are the basic building blocks for the strongest building parts made from “reinforced stone” from the “Master Mason” talent (Tier 3). The building parts are heat insulated and suitable for hot areas like the desert or the volcano. The buildings are also a step in the journey of Conan Exiles.
Making hardened bricks from hardened stone
To make hardened bricks you need two things: bricks and the item “hardened stone”. The bricks are quite easy to obtain. Place 10 stones in a furnace and let it smelt the stones into a brick.
The hardened stone requires a bit more effort. You first need to acquire the “Firebowl Cauldron” talent at level 15 for the recipe. Set up a cauldron and you can then craft “hardened stone” using the recipes at the workstation.
5x hardened stone:
- 2 twine
- 2 soothing balm
You will get quite a few units of hardened stone from the materials needed for it. To now make hardened bricks, you simply need to place the hardened stones with the bricks in a furnace and start it.
Hardened brick:
- 1 brick
- 1 hardened stone
Farming soothing balm with fish
Soothing balm is a bit tricky to obtain. You will find it rather rarely on your journey unless you specifically search for it. You can obtain soothing balm very well from spiders if you harvest their corpses with a pick or a knife.
However, you can also obtain soothing balm from other sources. Some items like putrid meat or venom glands can be pressed into soothing balm in the fluid press. Some foods like unappetizing fish or shellfish produce soothing balm when cooked.
It is particularly effective if you set up several fish and shellfish traps. Collect the unappetizing catches and cook them at a nearby campfire. Let the meat spoil and then press it out. This way, you can quickly and easily obtain soothing balm whenever you return to your base.
