It’s that easy: Suicune can be defeated easily with three players. Trainers at Level 30 can defeat the Water-type Pokémon. However, it’s not feasible with just two players. Not even with the best counters.
Where can you catch Suicune? The legendary Pokémon returns in the form of a raid day. On Saturday, August 17, between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, the event will take place. Suicune raids will be available everywhere.
How to defeat Suicune with just three players
Which counters should you bring? Suicune is solely a Water-type Pokémon, which means Grass and Electric types are effective. This is what you should focus on.
This will help you in the battle: Two factors significantly influence the fight. The higher your friendship level with each other, the more battle bonuses you will receive. In our calculations, we always assumed the highest friendship level.
The weather is also helpful. In rain, Electric Pokémon are boosted, and in sunny weather, Grass Pokémon receive enhancements.
How to defeat Suicune at Level 30
How challenging it is: Although Level 30 is not very high, you can use many counters that work well. It’s important that the Pokémon are indeed at Level 30.
If you pay attention to this, you can take down Suicune fairly easily. The lower you go in the list, the harder it becomes. Raikou and Electivire are therefore the best choices.

- Magnezone with Spark and Thunderbolt

How to defeat Suicune at Level 35
How challenging it becomes: If you use the counters from the upper list, Suicune is easy to defeat. The counters that follow must indeed also be at Level 35; otherwise, it will be very tight.
Use these Pokémon: More Grass Pokémon are now added to the list. Be sure to pay attention to the right moves:
- Shroomish with Bullet Seed and Leaf Tornado
- (Alolan) Exeggutor with Bullet Seed and Solar Beam
- Jolteon with Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt
- Tangrowth with Vine Whip and Solar Beam
How to defeat Suicune at Level 40
How challenging it becomes: With three players, you should have no problems if your Pokémon are at Level 40. However, keep an eye on your friendship level, as it might become quite tricky without it.
Use these Pokémon: Several more Pokémon are added to the mix. Make sure they are also at Level 40 when used:
- Glaceon with Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade
- Attack Forme Deoxys with Charge Beam and Thunderbolt
- Electrode with Charge Beam and Thunder Shock
- Roselia with Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade
This is important when going in as a trio: You should know the moves of your Pokémon. It won’t help if you have the right monsters with the wrong moves.
Additionally, you should have some potions and revives ready, as you will need many of them.
If your team is defeated, revive it again or have a second battle team ready. Don’t go back into battle with the suggested team.
