Lapras returns to raids for the Raid Day in May of Pokémon GO. We will tell you how to defeat the Pokémon easily in pairs.
You need to be at least this level: To defeat Lapras in pairs, you only need to be at Level 30. The higher your level and your Pokémon are, the easier it will be.
Here’s how to have a chance at Lapras: The Pokémon returns tomorrow, May 25th, for 3 hours in the gyms. You have between 11 AM and 2 PM to battle the raid boss.
How to defeat Lapras in pairs
What counters should you use? Lapras is vulnerable to Fighting, Electric, Grass, and Rock types. Electric Pokémon are most effective. So make sure to have a strong team of that type.
These bonuses help you: If your Pokémon benefit from the weather bonus and you and your raid partner have a high friendship level, the raid becomes significantly easier.
Defeating Lapras at Level 30 – Here’s how
These requirements must be met: To defeat Lapras at this level, you need suitable weather and the best friendship level. Only then can you truly conquer Lapras.
This is what your team should look like: You can only defeat Lapras in rainy or cloudy weather. For this, you need either Electric or Fighting Pokémon. They are then boosted by the weather. It’s important that your Pokémon are also at Level 25 and not just you as a Trainer.
- Electivire with Thunder Shock and Thunder Punch (only in rain)
- Raikou with Thunder Shock and Thunder Punch (only in rain)

Defeating Lapras at Level 35 – Here’s how
These requirements must be met: At Level 35, the weather and friendship level are also crucial. However, you can attack in sunny or partly cloudy weather if you have the right counters.
This is what your team should look like: All the counters mentioned above work here as well, provided it is raining in the game or cloudy. If it is sunny, then rely on Grass Pokémon. If it is partly cloudy, you can use Rock Pokémon. Another Fighting Pokémon should also be included.
- Toxicroak with Counter and Dynamic Punch (only in cloudy)
- Roserade with Razor Leaf and Leaf Storm (only in sun)
- Venusaur with Vine Whip and Flora Statue (only in sun)

Defeating Lapras at Level 40 – Here’s how
These requirements must be met: With Pokémon at Level 40, you have considerably more flexibility. You don’t need to have maximum friendship level or be dependent on the right weather.
This is what your team should look like: If none of the Pokémon mentioned above are boosted by the weather, then you can also defeat Lapras with two Pokémon without the weather bonus:
- Raikou with Thunder Shock and Thunder Punch
- Machoke with Counter and Dynamic Punch
Depending on the weather, there are some additional counters that you can use. Here’s the appropriate list:
