Since the release of Outriders, there have been some issues. This includes a bug that does what photo modes in games are meant for: it makes the HUD disappear. MeinMMO shows you how to solve the problem when the interface simply vanishes.
What is this problem? Numerous players are complaining that their HUD disappears. They can simply not see their health points, the cooldown of abilities, and other elements.
This is a known bug that the developers have already identified and are working on a solution. However, there are at least temporary workarounds to bring back the HUD. We’ll show you how to do that.
“No HUD” problem due to screenshot tool?
This should help: People Can Fly recommends disabling Nvidia Ansel in the Outriders subreddit (via reddit). The implementation of Ansel in Outriders may be related to the “No HUD” bug.
What is Nvidia Ansel? This is a tool from Nvidia that allows you to take screenshots in games and then edit them. The tool was introduced in 2016 with the 10xx series of GeForce graphics cards. To use it, it must be implemented during the development of games. Ansel can pause games to take the desired screenshots.
Additional Workarounds
These workarounds may also help bring back your HUD:
- Workaround 1: Back to Lobby
- Press Options/Start/ESC to open the menu
- Select “Back to Lobby”
- Then log in again with the character that was missing the HUD
- Workaround 2: Change character
- You also go to the lobby as described above, but this time additionally change the character
- You may need to create a new character for this.
- Once you’ve done that, select the character that was missing the HUD again.
- Workaround 3: Deactivate HUD elements in the lobby
- This method comes from Reddit user Ossorion (via reddit)
- Go back to the lobby
- You can deactivate HUD elements individually in the options.
- Once you’ve done that, log in again.
A restart has also helped in some cases.
“No HUD” bug is not the only launch problem
What is going on with Outriders? Since the release on April 1st, there have been several server outages. Additionally, the cross-play feature is currently not working between PC and console.

What is being done? The developers are working hard on possible fixes for the numerous problems. Currently, there is still no detailed information about a patch. Updates on the situation are constantly being published on Twitter. (via Twitter)

How is Outriders performing? Due to the late sending of the test codes, there are currently no extensive tests. However, the first impressions were positive despite many problems.
