The developers of Black Desert have released their roadmap for the second quarter of 2019. Apparently, a new mount, new areas, and new group content are set to arrive in the game by the end of June.
What are the biggest innovations? Among the new announcements are two new regions. One is the underwater ruins, which is supposed to provide a new high-level area with new monsters and a world boss. This area has been available in Korea since the summer of 2018.
The other new region is Star’s End. In this area, players are supposed to obtain the new BlackStar weapon. According to the previous experiences from Korea, the area is very challenging and has several prerequisites, including level 57+, 320+ DP, and the completion of all Mediah story sections.
Are dungeons coming now? Besides the areas, there will also be new group-based content. According to the developers, this content is expected to bring entirely new experiences to the MMORPG.
Originally, Black Desert was supposed to have hundreds of dungeons, but the decision was made during development to move away from that idea. Now it seems they are backtracking on that decision.
What other innovations are to come? Big innovations are great, but the developers are also planning some smaller contents to arrive in the game:
- Doom, a new mythical horse intended for experienced riders
- New adventures in the Mediah storyline
- The new Great Marni Stone
- The Garmoth Chase, where you can earn new rewards
- New life skill updates and the long-awaited Manos gear
When are the innovations supposed to come to the game? You can already look forward to the Doom mount very soon. It is set to arrive in the game next week.
For the remaining innovations, there was only the announcement that they are expected to arrive within the second quarter of 2019. This officially runs from early April to the end of June. The short time frame also raises skepticism among the community.
This is why players are skeptical: Even though the announced changes are generally well received, many players do not believe that Pearl Abyss can meet the timeline.
After all, it is already the end of April, and only two months remain for many major innovations. Additionally, they have been lagging behind the Korean version significantly. With all these innovations, they would be almost caught up.
Many players also resent the bans of many innocent accounts and the closure of the Shadow Arena.
