In Destiny 2, the Solstice event now allows you to lift Eliksni hatchlings like the little Simba from Disney’s “The Lion King”. The Guardians celebrate the nostalgia, but it’s not cheap.
The Guardians are all about the cute baby Fallen, who conquered all hearts right at the start of Season 14. The little rascal is now stealing the show in the new summer event.
Previously, Guardians could only admire the cute alien offspring from a distance – but that’s over now: You can now lift the little guys like the little lion Simba from the Disney hit “The Lion King” into the sky.
This is how you play The Lion King: The event Solstice of Heroes, which started on July 6, brought new content – also for the Eververse. Here you will find the new emote “Eliksni Hatchling” (eng. Eliksni Hatchling).
Like the monkey Rafiki at Disney, your Guardian raises the swaddled baby alien high so that everyone can admire the sprout. The space Simba honors the gesture with a sweet giggle – or whatever Eliksni hatchlings produce. By the way, Eliksni is what the aliens call themselves; humans disparagingly call them Fallen.
As one of the first US magazines, Polygon reported on the Eliksni babies, which you can now lift like Simba. Check out the new emote in action here:
Bungie cleverly extracts silver with Alien Simba
How much does the new emote cost? The gesture “Eliksni Hatchling” costs 1,000 silver. That’s about €10 if you buy the premium currency in the store (it gets a bit cheaper depending on the bundle size).
The price of 1,000 silver corresponds to that of a whole season – but it’s completely normal for exotic emotes in Destiny 2.
Is Simba also available for Glimmer? Many cosmetics can also be bought with the earnable currency Glimmer in the Eververse. However, the Simba emote seems to be available only for silver in the store during the Solstice event. This is at least what dataminers are reporting on sites like TodayInDestiny.com.
But the predictions regarding event items are never 100% accurate – we cannot completely rule out the purchase option with Glimmer. At the latest next year for the Solstice, the emote should also be available for earnable currency, as is tradition.

The Lion King meets the Guardians’ nostalgia nerf
This is how the Guardians rule: The already nostalgic Guardians are all about the combo of baby alien and Simba. Under the Twitter post, you can already see that many players shout “Shut up and take my dust” – a reference to a meme that celebrates willing spending of money.
When they are then informed that they will need silver for the purchase, the disappointment is great. Because many Guardians agree: They absolutely need to lift Eliksni hatchlings like Simba. But other users chime in with “the next paycheck will be blown on that” – hopefully, there’s still something left for living expenses after the 1,000 silver.
Of course, we also find numerous references to “The Lion King” under the post. Some Guardians even noticed that the info text of the emote pokes fun at the classic. It says in Destiny 2 “The Eternal Ether Cycle” – a clear reference to the earworm song “Circle of Life”, which makes the film so unforgettable.
