How old can my phone be if I want to play Diablo: Immortal?

Diablo Immortal is set to bring the typical hack-and-slash gameplay to mobile devices. You can smash plenty of enemies and then collect loot. But what kind of phone do I actually need if I want to play this MMO? And how old can the device be?

Diablo Immortal is now playable on phones with iOS and Android, PC players still have to wait until this evening. But how good and new does your phone actually need to be for you to play Blizzard’s new action MMO? We will reveal it to you here.

Diablo Immortal: What are the system requirements?

What are the system requirements? Blizzard has outlined the minimum requirements for both Apple and Android devices. The requirements are as follows:

What about Apple? If you want to use an Apple device for gaming, the answer is simple: You need an iPhone 6s and newer, along with at least iOS 11. If you own an older Apple device, you cannot install and launch the game.

What about Android? The answer is more complicated for Android, as dozens of manufacturers offer phones with the Google operating system. Therefore, it is hardly possible to list all functioning devices from recent years here.

In any case, Android 5.0 or higher is mandatory. Most reasonably recent phones and tablets support this.

Additionally, you need at least a Snapdragon 660 or faster processor and at least 2 GB of RAM. The Snapdragon 660 was first integrated into several mid-range devices like the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) at the end of 2017. So your phone should not be older than 3 or 4 years.

Many older flagship models like the Nokia 8, Samsung Galaxy S8, or Xiaomi Mi 6 should have no issues running Diablo Immortal. They use the Snapdragon 835, which is the larger brother of the 660.

Moreover, you should note that you will need plenty of space on your smartphone for the installation. After downloading via the PlayStore (around 2 GB), you will still need to download 10 GB of patch files through the client itself. Therefore, you need about 12 GB of storage space on your phone. We would recommend at least 64 GB or more of storage.

Which devices are not compatible? So far, there have been several comments on reddit that Diablo Immortal does not run on the Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, or Xiaomi Note 10 Pro (via reddit.com). This is surprising because both devices clearly meet the minimum requirements. However, the game is running on some Xiaomi phones.

There is no official statement yet. However, it is to be expected that further devices are also excluded.

I have graphical errors on my phone in the game: Currently, some players are reporting issues (via reddit.com). Blizzard has since commented and is working on a fix. Currently, Samsung devices with Exynos processors are mostly affected. We have embedded the current list of affected devices here:

What happens if my device is not compatible? If your device is not compatible, you will get a notification in the Google PlayStore that your device is not working. You will not even be able to install the game, or the game will not be displayed at all.
