Place 5: Gollum

The nasty little Gollum was originally a hobbit named Sméagol. His cousin Déagol once found the One Ring, entirely by chance while fishing. Sméagol was immediately drawn to the power of the Ring. He killed his cousin to take possession of the precious treasure.

Over time, he became more peculiar. He was expelled from his village and lived for over 400 years in the caves beneath the Misty Mountains. There he eventually became Gollum.
