How many characters can you have per server and account in WoW: Battle for Azeroth? The number keeps increasing. It was 16, and now it is already 18.
If you want to play an allied race in Battle for Azeroth but have no more space, you no longer need to switch servers. The developers of World of Warcraft are raising the limit for characters per server with the new addon.
More character slots in Battle for Azeroth: When the allied races of Lightforged Draenei, Void Elves, Highmountain Tauren, and Nightborne came, Blizzard raised the limit for characters per realm from 12 to 16.
With the new addon WoW: Battle for Azeroth, you will soon be able to create 18 characters instead of the previously allowed 16 per realm. The addition of two new slots was initially revealed only through a hint in a loading screen of the beta.
More slots thanks to allied races
The reason for the two additional slots is the allied races of Mag’har and Dark Iron Dwarves. With the slots, players will have the opportunity to play the new races on their home server.
The Mag’har and Dark Iron Dwarves will be playable at the launch of Battle for Azeroth on August 14. With this, the character slots will also be expanded.
It is unknown if more races will bring more slots: At least two more allied races will be available in Battle for Azeroth. The Alliance will get the Kul Tiran Humans, while the Horde will get the Zandalari Trolls as allies.
Whether Blizzard will follow the pattern and also raise the limit for characters per realm for these races is still uncertain. How you can unlock Kul Tiran and Zandalari Trolls, as well as what requirements you need, is also not yet known.
Benefits for heavy players: The original number of characters per server has almost doubled since the launch of World of Warcraft. At the beginning, only 10 characters could be created per realm – with Battle for Azeroth, it will be 18.
This decision is certainly very practical for multi-twinkers. You no longer have to rely on account-bound items, but can easily send gold and items to new characters and expand their professions and gear.
What do you think of the decision? Will you utilize the slots for allied races? Or is it not that important to you to stay on your realm? Leave us a comment!
