In the recent Pokémon Presents, the Mega Evolution of Dragonite was introduced, which will make its debut in Pokémon Legends A-Z. MeinMMO editor-in-chief Leya thinks it couldn’t have been done better.

I have always liked the design. I mean, just look at it:
You just have to love Dragonite, with its rounded shapes and button eyes. The cute appearance has always been a misconception, as Dragonite is also a powerful dragon.
However, looking at its pre-evolutions Dratini and Dragonair can also cause confusion as to whether you got mixed up in the evolution line and whether somewhere in the drawers of developer studio Game Freak a blue, agile dragon is collecting dust as a design.
I always wondered what happened to the wings on its head and why only antennas remain. The orbs that Dragonite grows into Dragonair are also missing in the final stage. The color change from blue to orange is also quite radical.
Mega Dragonite picks up the “missing” design elements
When I watched the Pokémon Presents last night, my heart melted instantly. There’s now new information about Pokémon Legends A-Z, including the significance of Mega Evolutions. In this context, Mega Dragonite was revealed as well. And now take a look:
The design of Dragonite has hardly changed. He is still the friendly, round dragon. But a few elements from Dragonair are adopted, giving him an almost angelic look.
The antennas of Dragonite return as wings, which appear widely spread and fluffy. The orb on the tail has also been revisited, shimmering bluish. Additionally, there are a few extra wings on the legs and arms. The cross stripes on the belly are now jagged, making Dragonite almost look agile! Almost.
Enhanced Kindness is Brutal
I have to laugh when I find the description of Mega Dragonite. It states that the kindness is even enhanced, for which Dragonite is known. The following description is given:
For Mega Dragonite, a quick end to a Pokémon battle is a kind gesture towards its opponent. Its kindness grows through Mega Evolution and it attacks opponents with strong moves and a smile. However, if it feels that someone is in trouble, it rushes to help that person immediately – even if it is in the midst of a fierce battle.
So, if you encounter a Mega Dragonite in Pokémon A-Z, be careful that it doesn’t beam you back to nothingness with a kind Hyper Beam while smiling at you with its enhanced kindness.
