How drastically Overwatch Brigitte and 10 other heroes change

The next patch of Overwatch brings many changes to 11 heroes. We tell you what changes are coming soon.

Things are happening in Overwatch these days. First Blizzard announced that “Role-Queue” will be coming soon, where players will have to lock into a role before the match. Now it has also been revealed how significantly some heroes will be adjusted to meet the new system.

So many changes are brought by the next patch of Overwatch

The upcoming changes to the heroes are currently playable on the PTR of Overwatch. Anyone who wants to can try them out on PC and just needs to download the appropriate client.

Ashe

• The reload time per bullet has been reduced from 0.3 seconds to 0.25 seconds.

Brigitte

• Inspire (Passive)
  • The healing amount has been increased from 100 to 130.
  • Brigitte’s self-healing is now reduced by 50%.
• Repair Pack
  • Now has 3 charges.
  • The healing amount has been reduced from 150 to 120.
  • Now heals over 2 seconds instead of instantly.
  • If multiple charges are used on the same person, the current duration is extended by 2 seconds.
• Whiplash
  • The impact speed has been increased from 60 to 80.
  • The cooldown time of the ability has been reduced from 0.6 seconds to 0.3 seconds.
• Barrier Shield
  • The barrier now has 200 hit points instead of 500.
• Rally
  • The cost of activating the ultimate has been increased by 10%.

Doomfist

• melee attack
  • A melee attack no longer pauses the weapon’s reload.

Hanzo

• Storm Arrows
  • The number of Storm Arrows has been decreased from 6 to 5.

Moira

• Fade
  • Can now also be used while Moira is stunned.

Orisa

• Fortify
  • The cooldown has been increased from 8 seconds to 9 seconds.

Reinhardt

• New passive effect “Steadfast”
  • Reinhardt is pushed back 30% less than other heroes.

Sombra

• Hack
  • The duration has been reduced from 6 seconds to 5 seconds.
• EMP
  • The activation time has been increased from 0.5 seconds to 0.65 seconds.

Symmetra

• Teleporter
  • Now lasts indefinitely or until destroyed.
  • Symmetra can manually destroy her teleporter.
  • The cooldown begins once a teleporter has been destroyed.
  • The cooldown has been increased from 12 to 15 seconds.
  • The maximum range has been increased from 25 to 30 meters.
  • The teleporter is destroyed when the two teleporters are further than 40 meters apart (e.g. on moving platforms).
  • Teleporters can now only be used by the same character every 1.5 seconds (instead of every second).

Tracer

• Pulse Bomb
  • The damage has been increased from 300 to 350.

Wrecking Ball (Hammond)

• Minefield
  • The projectile speed has been increased from 10 to 13, causing the mines to spread out over a larger radius.
  • The activation time has been reduced from 0.25 seconds to 0.1 seconds.

Why are there so many changes? In his “Developer Update,” Game Director Jeff Kaplan explained why there are now so many adjustments. The reason is the new Role-Queue system and the associated balance of a “2-2-2” team (2 tanks, 2 healers, 2 DPS). For example, Kaplan mentioned Brigitte. Brigitte is currently extremely strong when combined with two other healers. This will no longer be possible in the future, which is why significant adjustments are necessary to ensure that Brigitte continues to serve a purpose.
