Outriders is received mixed
This is what players say: On MeinMMO, initial players express very mixed feelings. The shooter mechanics and especially the technical condition of Outriders are not well received.
For example, some comments criticize that a jump function is missing. CandyAndyDE writes: “You can climb over cover, but there’s no jump. The character sticks to the ground like a magnet.” At the same time, he praises the characters, the German voice actors, and the weapons.
Many generally criticize the technical condition of the game. Capes are buggy, the voice actors are not synchronized with the characters, and the cover system does not work properly.
However, there are also positive voices. Don77 writes: “The game was a lot of fun for me and, in my opinion, is much better than The Division 1 and 2. You don’t just blast around, but due to the abilities, it really is varied.” He particularly praises the simple change of difficulty. Don77 also positively assesses the side missions, noting that they are not too long.

The cool skills and gameplay are the most frequently mentioned positive aspects. It is fun to rush through enemies and take them down with various abilities.
However, there seems to be a bigger problem that is frequently mentioned.
Are FPS locks in cutscenes and motion blur a problem?
What is the problem? One of the most frequent points of criticism is the activated motion blur. This is criticized both by our readers and in the Outriders subreddit.
Reddit user Combatchase writes: “The one thing I found striking was the camera that constantly moves in cutscenes. I wouldn’t call it motion sickness, but my eyes were stressed by the constant movements” (via reddit)
- This causes a blurry appearance when in motion. The cutscenes are apparently also a nuisance.
- These are limited to 30 FPS on PC, which causes stuttering scenes for some players.
- In combination, this leads to an unpleasant effect for some.
Aside from the cutscenes, the game reportedly runs very well on PC. On consoles, this does not always seem to be the case. MeinMMO user CandyAndyDE writes: “Game does not run smoothly on Xbox Series X at 1080p”
