World of Warcraft has announced “Dragonflight.” But how do you like the new expansion? Have your hopes been rekindled?
For all fans of World of Warcraft, yesterday was a big day. After many months of waiting, the developers spoke in detail about the next chapter of the WoW saga in an almost hour-long livestream. With “Dragonflight”, we return to Azeroth to the legendary Dragon Isles. There, players will help the Aspects like Alexstrasza, Kalecgos, and Nozdormu to resolve the significant and minor problems of the dragonflights. Popular characters like Wrathion or Khadgar also make an appearance – and there will be a number of new features.
But first we want to know: What is your first impression of Dragonflight? Are you excited about the new expansion? Do you like what you have seen? Or are you still skeptical?
What’s in the new addon? Basically, the WoW expansion appears unusually restrained. There are only a number of new features and otherwise many revisions of the core mechanics. Some of the pillars of the next expansion are:
- New race and class: Dracthyr Evokers, humanoid dragons that can be ranged DPS or healers, with extensive cosmetic customization.
- Dragon Isles as a new region: A total of 4 new areas await on the Dragon Isles (+1 as the starting area for Dracthyr).
- Dragon Riding: Instead of flying, you can ride on dragons. This allows for a new mode of transportation with high speeds, but also effects from gravity, air currents, and more.
- New talent system: WoW brings back the talent trees, but with significantly more variety. There is a “class” talent tree and one for the specialization.
- Overhaul of professions: The profession system is set to be expanded and refined. There will be work orders, gear for all professions, and new specializations with quality tiers.
- Overhaul of the interface: The entire WoW UI will be redesigned.
