In Warframe there is finally the new open-world area Fortuna. It is located on Venus and is not easily reachable. We explain how you can still get there quickly.
What is Fortuna? Fortuna is the second large open-world area in Warframe. Unlike the Plains of Eidolon, which were quickly reachable on Earth, Fortuna is located one planet further towards the sun – on Venus. At least from the beginning of the game, you cannot just fly there.
The fastest way to Venus
Step by step to Fortuna: To reach Venus, you need to complete various tasks, fulfill prerequisites, and get through some tough fights. We will introduce you to the individual steps here.
Complete the quest “Vor’s Price”
You receive this task right at the beginning of the game, and it introduces you to the game. You first have to escape the ambitious Grineer officer Vor and evade his hunt.
The missions of the quest series lead you to the jump gate “Venus Junction”. From there, you can continue to Venus. But first, you need to fulfill a few prerequisites.
Collect 20 mods
Mods are upgrades for your weapons, items, and Warframes. They are bright blue modules found in abundance during missions. Once you reach the Venus Junction, you should actually have 20 of them collected.
Equip 4 mods on a Warframe or weapon
This step is also very simple. When you find mods, you can feel free to install them. It’s especially easy via “Auto-Install”. Go to your Arsenal (directly across from the control console in the ship’s lower deck) and select a weapon and/or a Warframe.
- Next, select the Upgrades option
- A window with numerous mods and installation slots appears.
- You can manually install the mods or let the game do it automatically
- Select “Actions” at the bottom of the screen
- Then choose “Auto-Install”.
- Done!
Help, I can’t install mods even though there are enough slots available! This is likely because you do not have enough capacity. Your Warframe at the beginning of the game does not have enough power for many or strong mods.
But don’t worry, the capacity increases with each level your Warframe or weapon levels up. Just level them up in missions by carrying the frame and using the desired weapon.
Upgrade mods with fusion
Mods are really good only when you upgrade them. However, you need a resource called Endo for that. You get it by dismantling mods. Proceed as follows:
- In the upgrade menu, at the bottom of the screen, select the tab “Mods”
- Click on all mods you have multiples of and select all duplicates
- Do this until you have marked all duplicates.
- Then click on the action “Dissolve Selected into XX Endo” at the top
- Once you confirm the action, you will receive a corresponding amount of Endo.
How do I use Endo to upgrade mods? Now select a mod you want to improve. At the beginning of the game, Vitality is a good choice because it gives you more health points. Then proceed as follows:
- Select a mod
- Click the action “Start fusing into selected mod”
- Now use the “Plus” icon to select how many levels the mod should level up. You will see on the right how much Endo and credits it costs.
Once you have completed the upgrade, this task is finished.
Attention! Keep in mind that higher quality mods consume more capacity in your Warframe. Therefore, if you upgrade the mod too much, it may only find space in the Warframe again when you level up the frame.
Duel with the Specter
Finally, you can activate the jump gate at Venus Junction. But first, a dangerous opponent awaits you. In the control room lurks a Specter, a kind of replica of a Warframe.
At Venus Junction, it is a Rhino Warframe, a tanky colossus that can take a lot of damage. Nevertheless, the fight should not be a major problem. If it is, play around with your mods and level a few frames or weapons until you can handle the Rhino Specter.
Fight your way to Fortuna
Once you arrive on Venus, you only need to complete the missions at E Gate and Unda, then Fortuna is open to you.
However, keep in mind that you must first complete the intro quest “Vox Solaris”, which could be quite tricky. You will definitely need weapons that can kill large groups of enemies and a frame that can take a lot of damage.
Therefore, you should further upgrade your weapons and Warframes. Ideally, you should do the following:
- Do defense missions, as enemies come to you and you can accumulate massive kills in a short time. This levels up your equipment nicely
- Complete the Mercury Junction on Venus to unlock the Boltor rifle or get the blueprint in the Market menu. Build this weapon through your Foundry, and you will have a very good rifle for starters.
- Increase your Mastery Rank over time to gain access to better weapons, including the Hek shotgun at level 4.
Once you are strong enough to complete Vox Solaris, you can freely explore Fortuna and the open world there and enjoy the new features of Warframe, including hoverboards. Have fun!
