Opponent 2: Battleborn – Borderlands as a co-op shooter with MOBA elements? Why not!
Developer Gearbox is launching in 2016 with the “unofficial” Borderlands successor Battleborn, which is equipped with MOBA elements. Announced as an AAA hero shooter, Battleborn can be played in various modes.
Battleborn is a wild mix of MOBA and team shooter, as well as co-op shooter with around 25 different character classes and fairly spacious maps. Either we dive into the PVP mode and fight against each other in five-person teams with plenty of MOBA elements, or we play alone or with friends in the co-op mode. The latter is all about story missions. Almost like in an instance, we fight our way through various tasks together with our partners.
Forecast: You can really tell the strong reference to the “predecessor” Borderlands. Which is not a bad thing. Lovingly designed characters with the usual twisted humor.
And yes, I love the humor of Borderlands – Oh pardon! – of Battleborn.
If you enjoy co-op and like to complete a few story missions in RPG style with your friends, you will love Battleborn. If you prefer a team shooter like Overwatch with MOBA elements, you will also love Battleborn. And if you are a console player who doesn’t want to miss out on the new team shooters, you will definitely have to play Battleborn.
On February 9, 2016, Battleborn will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
