Kaumalat is currently one of the rarest monsters in Pokémon GO. But how rare is it really? What are the chances when hatching?
This is Kaumalat: The Dragon and Ground type Pokémon was introduced with the last major Pokémon wave from Gen 4. Since then, it can be caught in the wild or found in 10 km eggs.
However, Kaumalat is not very common. Data from TheSilphRoad now shows how rare Kaumalat actually is in the 10 km eggs.
Kaumalat is incredibly rare
What do the numbers say? The analysts at TheSilphRoad regularly update their egg list. They also record how frequently each Pokémon has hatched from the eggs.

In the 10 km eggs, they currently have data from a total of 265 eggs. The surprising part: Kaumalat was not even found in the eggs.
The odds for Kaumalat are therefore very poor. The Pokémon seems to be extremely rare. In comparison, Riolu hatched 2 times. This Pokémon was previously considered one of the rarest in the eggs. Now it seems Kaumalat has taken over this role.
What can you find in the eggs instead? The 10 km eggs currently offer 22 Pokémon. Dratini is hatched most frequently (44 times out of 265 eggs). Larvitar closely follows and has been hatched a total of 38 times.
You will mainly find Pokémon in the 10 km eggs that are known from the Community Day. This includes Bummelz, Kindwurm, or Tanhel. However, Sheinux and Barschwa are also relatively common.
What does this mean for Kaumalat? If you have not had any luck hatching so far, that may continue for some time. The probability of hatching a Kaumalat is very low.
That is unfortunate, because its evolution Knakrack is among the best Pokémon in the game. A good specimen could indeed be valuable.
How rare is Kaumalat in the wild? In the wild, Kaumalat is also not very common. It spawns slightly more often in forest areas, while city centers are rather not frequent locations for Kaumalat.
Therefore, we may have to wait for an upcoming event or even a possible Community Day until Kaumalat becomes a bit more common.
