Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has a fun coop mode called Zombies. In it, a streamer attempted to set a world record all by himself. But a bug with a very bizarre name ruined everything. Read here at MeinMMO what happened.
What happened? The streamer Noahj456 bravely ventured into the Zombies mode. In this mode, teams of 4 players are supposed to fend off wave after wave of increasingly dangerous undead. As the zombies become more ferocious, it’s tough in a team, but even harder when alone.
Nevertheless, the brave fighter – who had only played Zombies and neither the campaign nor the multiplayer mode – managed to hold out for a long time, making it to round 256. That is the round where the game stops counting and you can safely retreat. Noahj456 was on the verge of completing this round.
He had cleverly lured the zombies into a choke point where he could easily zap them with the ray gun. The record he was streaming live was within reach. But things were about to take a turn.
Malicious Zebra Stallion ruins everything
How did the record go wrong? Noahj fought like crazy for the record, and one by one, zombies exploded in the fire of the ray gun. But just as the carnage reached its peak, the screen suddenly went black. Noahj sat there in shock as a bizarre error message appeared: Zebra 112 Vicious Stallion. This means something akin to “Zebra – Malicious Stallion” and apparently indicates a rare error that can cause the game to crash.
Shortly thereafter he was back in the lobby for a new round of Zombies, and only then did it seem to dawn on him that his record had just gone up in flames. “This can’t be real! This has to be a joke?!?!” was his stunned reaction to the dilemma.
Here’s how cool he took the loss: After Noahj had digested his frustration over the almost-certain record, he showed humor again on Twitter. He simply posted “F”, which is a nod to the famous CoD meme “Press F to Pay Respect”. Among gamers, this is considered a sarcastic reaction to situations.
The bug that caused Noahj’s record to fail is fortunately quite rare, and the developers are already hard at work patching and improving CoD Cold War. Recently, a patch was implemented to end the dominance of the overpowered submachine gun MP5.
