Apex Legends is a team game. How important it is to fight together has now been demonstrated by two players who practically forced a third player to victory.
This is how the game went: The Apex Legends players xxxStuxnetxxx and MuckleBalls jointly pushed a third player to victory. They played the Legends Wraith and Octane. Their teammate played Gibraltar.
Right after the landing, however, Gibraltar was AFK. He did nothing and just stood there, not picking anything up. However, the two other players decided that they would carry Gibraltar with them.
So they kept boxing him forward with melee attacks and Wraith’s portals. Instead of letting him die, they brought him to the final circle and into a house. There, they protected him and eliminated all remaining teams. They shared the victory scene on reddit.
Why wasn’t Gibraltar kicked? Actually, Apex Legends intends for players to be automatically removed from the game after a few minutes of inactivity. That was not the case with Gibraltar, however.
It seems that Apex Legends only tracks whether the characters are moving. Not whether the players make an input. Something similar is confirmed by reddit user Murphys_1awyer:
I was deep in a round and decided to camp in a corner of a building. I kept aiming back and forth between two entrances, but because I didn’t move, I got kicked.
So far, it probably wouldn’t have had any effects if one gets kicked, except that the own team suffers a disadvantage. In the future, Apex Legends might plan a penalty for leavers.

This is how the community reacts: The clip has been very well received by fans. People are amused that someone was literally “carried” now and that it could hardly be showcased more prominently.
It is also joked that Gibraltar is only useful when he does absolutely nothing. Currently, Gibraltar is one of the least popular heroes in Apex Legends.

What do you think of the scene?
Currently, Apex Legends only works with a team of three people. However, that might change:
