With patch 8.1, Blood Elves in World of Warcraft will receive their heritage armor. How to obtain it has already been gleaned from the game data.
The next patch for World of Warcraft brings some new content. Old races also receive their heritage armor. The first to get it are the Dwarves and Blood Elves, who will be given their own armor set.
What are the requirements? To play the quest line for the heritage armor, only two conditions must be met. You need:
- A Blood Elf character at level 120
- Exalted with Silvermoon
This is how you get the reputation with Silvermoon to “Exalted”: If you need reputation, you can simply get a tabard from Silvermoon and visit old dungeons with it. Alternatively, questing in the Eversong Woods or the Ghostlands is also worthwhile.
Scenario not yet playable: Currently, the exact quest line is not yet playable on the PTR. However, data miners have already extracted the various quest steps from the game data, giving us a rough idea of the quest line’s progression.
What is the quest about? For the quests, it seems that Blood Elf players will travel back in time and reenact and experience an important event firsthand. It concerns the conquest of Silvermoon by the Scourge under Lich King Arthas.
The following quest steps have already been found in the data:
- Remembered through Blood: Ignite the lantern and experience the memories of the Fallen.
- Until the Last Breath: Hold the front against the Scourge.
- Delay the March of Death: Defeat Seer Drannix.
- For Anasterian!: Confront Arthas.
- A Setback: Ignite the lantern and see Kael’thas’ decision.
- The Daywalker: Fight your way to the Sunwell.
- Prince’s Decision: Defend the Magisters during their ritual.
What exactly is happening there? From the quest steps, it can be deduced that it is a retelling of the events from Warcraft 3. The Blood Elves were overwhelmed by Arthas and the Scourge back then, and a large part of their population was annihilated.
Their source of magic, the Sunwell, was desecrated and used for the resurrection of a lich. Since then, Blood Elves have been dependent on other sources of magic, such as Fel (demonic magic). To find new sources of magic, Prince Kael’thas later followed the demon hunter Illidan into Outland.
What does the heritage armor look like? As a reward for completing the quest, players will receive the heritage armor of the Blood Elves. What it will look like is still unknown. However, there is an armor set of the Sentinels that could be an option.
