In Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, owners of the Black Ops 4 Season Pass can look forward to some new features that may also interest their friends. However, these are only active for one week.
On May 21, Black Ops 4 received a new update across all platforms. In addition to numerous adjustments and improvements for the game, there were also some changes for the Black Ops Pass, which not only benefit the Season Pass holders.

What is changing with the Black Ops Pass
There were three changes regarding the Black Ops Pass, a kind of annual pass for Black Ops 4. However, these are time-limited and remain active until May 28. Call of Duty introduced the changes in a short trailer.
This is included in the currently ongoing Operation Spectre Rising for Black Ops 4
Access to exclusive Season Pass maps for friends: Owners of the Black Ops Pass automatically share all previously released, Season Pass-exclusive multiplayer maps with other players during this period – provided they are playing together in a party.
So if your friends, acquaintances, or gaming buddies do not own the Black Ops Pass, invite them into a group in-game. They can still play all the maps that are otherwise only accessible with the season pass alongside you for one week. A great opportunity to get a taste of the Black Ops Pass contents.
Extra reserve crates for Black Ops Pass owners: All players who already own the Black Ops 4 Season Pass will receive a bonus of five reserve crates this week. This will give them a total of 15 items from the reserves of the black market, such as cosmetics or weapons from past seasons.
Double progression for the black market: Additionally, all owners of the Black Ops Pass as well as all players in their party will receive double progression for rank-ups in the black market until May 28. This means they can earn double the cosmetics during this period compared to usual.
This is how fans reacted to this announcement: Fans have received this news with mixed feelings. While some are pleased, others are demanding that such bonuses (like 2x tier progression and extra reserve crates) be permanently introduced for owners of the annual pass. Many complain that they are not getting enough for the steep price of the Black Ops Pass.
However, hardly anyone believes that this will happen. “You can’t let people earn progress so quickly permanently,” says a sarcastic comment from Reddit user NotAVerySillySausage, who sums up the opinion of many players. “Then they won’t be willing to pay for crates with Call of Duty Points anymore. Besides, they might actually get something good from the crates without paying extra for it.”
Many believe that this is just another ploy by Activision to entice potential buyers to purchase the Black Ops Pass and to squeeze even more money out of players.
What do you think of this action? A welcome bonus with a cool effect for friends without a season pass? Or just another ploy to earn more money?
