In Path of Exile (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) should the new boss The Maven represent the toughest challenge. Now the enemy has been defeated, earning a player a bounty of $12,000.
Who is The Maven? With the latest update Echoes of the Atlas, the development studio Grinding Gear Games introduced what they describe as the hardest challenge in the hack and slash game Path of Exile (PoE).
For this ultra-hard challenge, it is necessary to defeat 10 bosses before The Maven appears, who herself is a really tough nut to crack. Grinding Gear Games stated that she is the strongest opponent in the game so far.
A Masterful Achievement in Path of Exile
What has the player achieved now? Grinding Gear Games and community streamer Zizaran organized another bounty hunting event where players had to master certain challenges. Among them was defeating The Maven. The player Darkee (playing as Lightee7) accomplished this first during the event, earning him $10,000.
In addition, he even mastered the “First Uber Elder Kill” challenge, for which he received an additional $2,000.
Player Takes Little Damage But Hits Like a Horse
How did Darkee achieve this? The player relied on the class Champion at level 97 focusing entirely on offense and tanking for this challenge. His main skill was Earthquake. The skill causes area damage, which also triggers an aftershock that deals additional damage over an even larger area.

In the video of his battle against The Maven, it can be seen that the attacks hardly seem to affect him, but he deals a lot of damage himself. The entire challenge lasted 17 hours, as you can see in the second video.
The Player is Truly That Good: Darkee is among the best players in PoE. He previously defeated the Awakener in the bounty hunting event in October 2020, earning him $11,000. In this event, Darkee was also able to achieve the “First Uber Elder Kill”, for which he received an additional $2,500. For mastering the “First Atziri Kill” challenge, he earned another $750.
So Darkee has once again shown how good he is at Path of Exile. Let’s see if he can master upcoming challenges as well.
