In The Division 2 the ammunition of the signature weapons has been a topic for a while, as it simply goes empty with every logout or group change. However, there is a workaround that Massive seems to be adopting.
What is the problem with the ammunition? Basically, players criticize how The Division 2 implemented the ammunition of the signature weapons.
Fans are annoyed that the ammunition disappears with every logout. Even when entering the Dark Zone, the ammunition is reset to zero. This bothers players, as there are no ways other than drops to replenish it in The Division 2.
However, there is a workaround, a kind of method to help. This solution is so liked by the developers at Massive that they are simply re-implementing it.
Replenishing Signature Weapons in the White House
This is how you can replenish your signature weapons immediately: Just go to the White House to the NPC where you can change specializations.
Now just briefly switch specializations. This process completely refills your signature ammunition. You can do this after every mission.
The workaround was discovered by players a while ago. Nevertheless, many players still do not know it, as there are always complaints about it on Reddit.
What are signature weapons anyway? These are the individual weapons of the specializations. They are unlocked at level 30 and come with a dedicated skill tree and additional bonuses.

Massive adopts the workaround for the Dark Zone
Some fans still demand more ways to refill ammunition, but Massive currently has other plans. However, the problem that you cannot enter the Dark Zone with full signature ammunition remains.
What if I want to go into the Dark Zone? The workaround in the White House seems to please the developers so much that they leave this method intact and incorporate it into the Dark Zone.
They have expanded “Thieves Den,” the refuge for non-lethal rogues, to include a method to change specializations.
As a result, you can now refill the ammunition of signature weapons in the Dark Zone. But first, you need to reach Thieves Den, or the Den of Thieves.
How do I find the Den of Thieves? When you activate the non-lethal rogue status in the Dark Zone, a countdown is activated. You must continue to increase this countdown through non-lethal rogue activities.
These activities include
- hacking terminals
- cracking SHD caches
- stealing supply drops
Once you have increased the countdown to the limit, the Den of Thieves will be unlocked and visible on your map. It is located somewhere different each time, there is no fixed location.

When will this change come? It is part of Title Update 3, which is currently being tested on the PTS (Player Test Server). Phase 2 of testing with some changes to talents and gear sets began on April 26.
So far, Title Update 3 is being received by players.
Why are there still no easier ways? There are no official statements on this. However, it may be that Massive avoids this for balance reasons.
After all, the Dark Zone is also a PvP area. If everyone could refill their signature ammunition all the time, that would probably be difficult from a balance perspective.
Is this workaround sufficient?
This is how the community reacts: Many are not satisfied with the current “solution.”
- For example, deathStar97 demands that the ammunition should be full with every login and group change. Although it is possible to travel back to the White House each time, it is quite annoying.
