A huge monument in Anthem is currently making eerie sounds. Just this mystery can bring a lot of fun, says Micha.
Recently, the Anthem community discovered that a huge monument in the north of the game world is making sounds. Players are puzzled about what it could mean. The mere prospect of mysterious events has already made my weekend a lot of fun.
The monument is “singing”: Over the weekend, I was exploring Anthem with friends to check out the monument watch and the surrounding area. The Anthem community has discovered that the structure suddenly emits sounds and eerie songs.
Since there is no explanation for why the monument does this, players are speculating about what it could mean. It cannot currently be satisfactorily clarified whether this is new or if the tower has been doing this from the beginning. While some players think this is old news and that the tower has always made noises, other freelancers are absolutely fascinated by this discovery.
One thing is clear, though: The singing tower is keeping players engaged.
I noticed this during my own excursion into the world of Bastion as well. Every time I went into freeplay, I encountered other players buzzing around the monument or searching the area around the structure.

Also, the monument is making waves among my friends: When I told my online party about the monument, some people joined me who wanted to see the singing structure with their own eyes. Just the thought that something strange might be going on seemed to pique my friends’ curiosity.
That was astonishing for me since most of my online buddies have put Anthem aside again or only return to the game for larger updates.
This led to a fun dynamic. First, one logged back into Anthem after weeks, then another buddy followed, until peer pressure led to six of us racing around the map in two squads. Not out of hope for loot, but just with the thought that we might discover something mysterious.
Every little detail was examined by us thoroughly. Are there more enemies than usual near the monument? Do we encounter more titans? Probably, nothing was different than usual, but we spun funny stories and happenings about what could be waiting around the next corner or with the next lightning strike.

Secrets do Anthem good: Players seem to remain fascinated by the world of Anthem and its secrets. The Anthem of Creation alone brings a creepy potential for changes, although the Cataclysms, game-changing events, are only scheduled for May.
Such small, unannounced mysteries keep players engaged, as seen with the singing tower.
But BioWare also needs to step up: Some freelancers expect something big to be announced with the changes to the tower. If only a small event springs from it, like “Giant Task”, some players might be disappointed.
Some players were also disappointed with the upcoming Elysian Caches:
