To become a pro in Counter-Strike 2, you need not only talent but also a lot of hard training. E-sports star Donk has now explained how much a pro trains.
What does such an e-sport pro do? E-sports is competitive sports, and the professionals who compete yearly for prize money in the millions really train hard.
The actual work of e-sport professionals is the training that is supposed to prepare them for tournaments. The tournaments themselves make up only a small part of the job compared to the many hours of training.
The CS2 pro Donk revealed in an interview with esports.gg his daily routine that the player goes through to be the best by the end of the year.

A pro thinks about CS2 all day
What does the daily routine look like? Donk said he wakes up in the morning and first has breakfast. After that, training with his team begins. There are both theory lessons and practical units in which the team collaborates. New strategies are learned, tested, and old ones refreshed.
According to estimates from dotesports.com, team training lasts about eight hours. However, after the team is finished, there’s still no evening off for Donk.
The 17-year-old pro tells in the interview that after team training he works on his personal performance. He then plays seven more games, each lasting about an hour. If he is still not satisfied, he plays even more.
However, Donk does not play Deathmatch, unlike many other pros. He finds the duels there quite unrealistic and therefore does not attribute much value to it. Overall, the 17-year-old is likely to train about 15 hours a day, even though not every minute is spent in-game.
What is Donk’s goal? He is already considered by many fans as the best player in Counter-Strike 2, but the pro wants to make sure and remove any doubts. In the interview, he says:
“At the moment, I cannot call myself the best player in CS2, and I believe that everyone will know by the end of the year who the best player is. […] We have many tournaments ahead of us, and it is up to others to decide who the best player is, not me.” At just 17 years old, he is already one of the greatest talents in Counter-Strike history.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the pro will compete for $500,000 at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, which is about €460,000. Just recently, however, the pro had to take a setback: 17-year-old won an important tournament in February, is seen as an upcoming star, and is now banned on Twitch
