The Big Brother: Knossi Edition is the salvation of the “Big Brother” format. Interesting people, fun, and the strict big brother are exactly what I have wished for from the format for years.
For years, Big Brother has become increasingly irrelevant. The surveillance show has not been as popular as other formats like “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!”, but at the same time has been threatened by newer formats like “The Summer House of the Stars”. The Big Brother Knossi Edition is just what fans of the show have needed for years.
- Interesting people with real stories who already know each other a bit and all have some kind of connection.
- Interaction with the chat and mobile phones for the participants of the show adds even more fun because the participants and viewers are more connected.
- No more starving and no “prison feeling” ensures a positive mood among the participants.
- Clear rules and a tough “big brother” who takes action but does not impose punishments that ruin the participants’ mood.
It is simply nice to see that a format can also be better when it does not drift further into extremes but becomes more positive.

Big Brother: Knossi Edition is the opposite of the TV version
The Knossi Edition is deliberately designed to be positive, while the TV version feels like it gets a bit more extreme every year. This year, for example, earned food could only be kept until the next morning, which means that every morning and lunch, there were only oatmeal with tap water to eat. Also, shopping always has to be earned first.
For years, Celebrity Big Brother always had two or, as last year, three areas. A good and a bad area. This heaven-and-hell principle was supposed to create more jealousy and let the residents argue.
This year, they have returned to the retro version. However, this has also led to Big Brother being filmed in a “poor” area in the Knossi Edition. You can learn more about the Knossi Edition here.
Big Brother can learn a lot from its own Knossi Edition
A significant learning factor for the show’s creators is that the program also works well without conflict. In the Knossi Edition, only participants who are known to Knossi or each other have gathered in the house.
Although not all of them are friends, they belong to the same circle of acquaintances, which also leads to participants being much more open about stories they have experienced together. For example, some participants from the survival show 7 vs. Wild are present.
The format is also not as harsh as Celebrity Big Brother and still creates iconic moments for the contestants, such as during group baking.
The whole format simply creates the right mix of Big Brother and class reunion feel. Another class reunion is coming soon at the Christmas event of MontanaBlack, who was also a guest at Knossi’s Big Brother Edition.
