Rank 6: The Regent (Episode 5)
- IMDb Rating: 7.4 / 10 stars
- Number of Ratings: 26,622
In Episode 6, the realm needs a new regent. Aegon is severely injured and close to death. Naturally, Aemond seizes his chance and takes the reins.
Meanwhile, Jace embarks on a secret mission to the Freys to win the house as an ally for Rhaenyra. Daemon, on the other hand, seems to further lose his loyalty and now wishes to be addressed as king.
Nothing special, but a necessary episode.

Rank 5: The Burning Mill (Episode 3)
- IMDb Rating: 7.7 / 10 stars
- Number of Ratings: 28,527
Episode 3 is a particularly enlightening episode, where many important plotlines are established:
In the riverlands, there is a battle between the two houses Bracken and Blackwood. Mysaria becomes Rhaenyra’s advisor. Larys’ strength becomes the Master of Whispers. Daemon is received in Harrenhal by Ser Simon. Rhaena is sent away with dragon eggs and children.
Additionally, Rhaenyra, disguised as a septa, seeks a conversation with Alicent. Finally, the two learn that Alicent was under a great misunderstanding when she placed Aegon on the throne.
I love the opening scene with the Blackwoods and the Brackens, and how important this event is for the rest of the episode. The music and the writing are fantastic, as always. The highlights were Daemon, Aegon, and Rhaenyra.

Rank 4: Rhaenyra the Cruel (Episode 2)
- IMDb Rating: 8.3 / 10 stars
- Number of Ratings: 30,393
With 8.3 stars, episode 2 is on par with episode 1. Aegon mourns the death of his son. But Otto convinces him to display his corpse in a public procession.
Meanwhile, Rhaenyra realizes Daemon’s bloody act and a fight ensues, after which he flies to Harrenhal.
Moreover, there is an attempted murder on Rhaenyra. Criston Cole sends the knight Ser Arryk to Dragonstone to pose as his twin brother and kill the “false” queen. An epic duel occurs, and both brothers die.
Another great episode that manages to build on the events of the previous ones and leaves the feeling that a war is imminent! The duel was also superb and manages to find the balance between violence and drama, just like Game of Thrones did.
