Rank 8: The Common Folk (Episode 6)

As Rhaenyra has few options left, she undertakes a risky venture. She tries to make a knight with only a little Targaryen blood into a dragon rider, who unfortunately does not survive the endeavor.
The plan to win over the common folk of King’s Landing goes better. Mysaria sends ships with food that the starving citizens are more than happy to receive.
What is the criticism? Many criticize the episode as a “filler episode” where not much exciting happens. At the same time, the scene with the kiss between Rhaenyra and Mysaria received a lot of hate, leading to outright review bombing.
Overall, the episode was not received as poorly as the ratings might suggest. In the most frequently rated comment on IMDb, it says:
People say this episode is just a filler. But I would contradict that 100%. House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones often revolve around patience. The plot takes time and builds slowly, with meaningful scenes in between that prepare us for new storylines.

Rank 7: The Queen Who Always Was (Episode 8)

The season finale was somewhat disappointing for many, as shown by the comparatively poor ratings.
One of the highlights was probably Tyland Lannister, who must impress the daring admiral Sharako Lohar to win her support.
Rhaenyra finally confronts Daemon in Harrenhal, who pledges his loyalty to her. Alicent also seems tired of fighting and offers Rhaenyra a capitulation from Aegon.
What is the criticism? The main point of criticism for the episode is that the expected climax does not materialize.
As a viewer, I feel a bit cheated. I spend all my time waiting for a climax, only to be left with another setup episode after having watched setup after setup after setup.
