Since yesterday, the latest patch for Heroes of the Storm is online. It not only brings Kharazim as a new playable hero but also many other changes.
Kharazim Enters the Battlefield
The newest addition in Heroes of the Storm comes once again from the Diablo universe. Anyone who wants can now purchase the new character Kharazim for 15,000 gold (or €10) and dive into the battles. Kharazim is a support character who can heal and accelerate allies, but can also deal damage effectively and zip across the battlefield in no time.
Rewards for Diablo Players
At the same time, the previously announced rewards for Diablo 3 players are now active. If you have registered Diablo on your Battle.net account, you should hurry and launch Heroes of the Storm soon. Because for just a few weeks, Diablo is available as a free character, and if you bring a season character to level 70 during Season 4, you will also receive Malthael’s mount as an extra! At the same time, there are also some rewards to be earned in Sanctuary. If your Account level in HotS is 12 or higher, you will receive a special frame and a flag in Diablo 3 to showcase your achievements in the Nexus.
A Lot of Balancing Changes
There have also been a lot of changes to game balance! The biggest changes affect Kerrigan and Kael’thas. While the Queen of Blades receives a general improvement to her talents, the Blood Elf prince has to expect some cuts. His overall strength is supposed to remain about the same; the developers hope to create more varied talent choices, which have been quite rigid so far. Further improvements exist in the area of permanently summoned creatures, such as Abathur’s monstrosity. This now levels up with its owner and becomes stronger throughout a game if it survives. This avoids gameplay situations where players would kill their own creatures to summon a new one.
The list of changes is seemingly endless, and everyone should take a quick look at the talents of their favorite hero to check if anything has changed.
New Skins, Mounts, and Profile Pictures
Lastly, of course, there are numerous new skins for players with deep pockets. Especially the Prisoner Tychus and the new Treasure Goblin mount are worth a look; the latter can even be purchased solely with gold – although 20,000 coins is quite a hefty sum for the average player.
Collecting enthusiasts can delight in the new display images that are available to unlock. Thematically linked heroes have their own avatars – for example, the Zerg logo when reaching level 10 with Abathur and Zagara.
A Little Mini-Game
As in almost every patch, this time an Easter egg has sneaked into the game’s home screen. If you click on the small, wiggling branch in one of the trees, a swiftly flying duck appears, which you have to shoot down – clicking wildly will not help, as only a limited number of shots are available. Overall, there are three difficulty levels. However, this whole thing doesn’t serve much of a purpose.
