Some accounts have been suspended again in Heroes of the Storm. This time, it mainly affected AFK players and players who die intentionally.
No Mercy for Bad Behavior – Even in Heroes of the Storm
Especially in team-based games like Heroes of the Storm, it is particularly annoying when one or more players do not participate in the match. Because if the match only takes place “4vs5”, the winner can usually be determined in advance. Unfortunately, there is a multitude of players who like to go AFK during the match or simply “feed”, meaning they intentionally let themselves be killed to speed up their team’s failure.
Blizzard has no understanding for such behavior. Those who have been notably reported multiple times in the last 30 days have now received a temporary account penalty. In Blizzard’s official statement, it says:
“(…) While we have only suspended a few users in each region this time, we expect the number of suspended – or in extreme cases banned – accounts to rise with future ban waves, as we continue to improve the system.
Going AFK during a match, not participating in the game, and intentional dying are behaviors that undermine the experience of all other players in the round. Participating in such actions will not be tolerated. We urge you to use the appropriate reporting functions if you notice such behavior.”
If someone deliberately wants to disrupt a game, they should think twice in the future, Blizzard is tightening the screws.
