Many players criticized the immature matchmaking in Heroes of the Storm. Blizzard has now implemented initial changes that should lead to a better gaming experience for newcomers and veterans.
“Quick Match” no longer quite so quick – but better!
Especially the game mode “Quick Match” was a thorn in the side of many players. It often happened that veterans and newcomers were mixed together. This led to tensions on both sides: the seasoned experts panicked trying to compensate for their inexperienced teammates, while the newcomers naturally could not meet the demands due to a lack of practical experience.
A new rule has now been implemented in the system, which ensures that players are matched based on the number of games they have already played. Those who can present 500 games on their account will therefore very rarely encounter players who are only playing their second or third round.
A disadvantage of this new rule is that players now have to wait longer for a match, as the pool of potential teammates and opponents has shrunk. However, Blizzard assumes that the longer wait times are bearable if they lead to an improvement in player experience and more exciting matches.
