In recent days, there have been frequent issues with cheaters in Heroes of the Storm. Now the developers have taken action and banned a multitude of accounts.
Perfect Map Awareness – who needs skill?
Recently, a Maphack gained a lot of negative notoriety. It allowed cheating players to permanently view the entire map and thus knew at all times where the enemies were located. In a tactical team game like HotS, this knowledge obviously provides an unfair advantage, as skilled positioning and setting traps for the enemies was no longer possible. However, some users of this hack were not particularly clever, using it too obviously, as this video shows:
Blizzard has now taken action against the reported accounts and banned them. According to their statements, “a stable and secure online gaming experience is of utmost priority.” It is to be hoped that such violations will continue to be addressed in the future.
