Today, October 11, 2023, the update 1.4 of Honkai: Star Rail is starting. You can finally play the game on PS5. Everything you need to know about the update can be found here on MeinMMO.
What to expect: Update 1.4 comes along with the release on the Playstation 5. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game on your console, you can get it for free in the store starting today.
The update takes you back to the planet Jarilo-VI with new content and events and includes three character banners featuring a total of three new characters.
Whether you can expect a new planet with the new update is not clear from the current information.

Which characters you can expect: Starting from October 11, 2023, you can expect a total of three banners:
- Jingliu (5 stars, Ice) from October 11 to October 27 – She follows the path of destruction and is part of the Xianzhou fleet. The swordswoman was also once the master of Jing Yuan. Especially for these two characters, it is likely to get exciting in the future story.
- Topaz (5 stars, Fire) from October 27 to November 14 – She follows the path of the hunt and fights with her cute companion Kontie. Topaz is part of the IFK, which you got to know in update 1.3.
- Seele (5 stars, Quantum) from October 27 to November 14 – She follows the path of the hunt and is a recurring character from Belobog.
The game also introduces the new character Guinaifen (4 stars, Fire). She follows the path of nothingness and is a street artist who fights with her fireworks. You can obtain this character through the Topaz banner.
Especially the icy swordswoman captivates many players in the comments via YouTube. For example, mondstadt8881 writes that her design, her voice, and everything about her is simply majestic.
Many particularly share the opinion about her voice and praise voice actress AmaLee for her work. Among others, xy1xy writes that Jingliu’s voice is breathtaking and calms the soul.
Currently, Jingliu is counted among the top two damage dealers you can have in Honkai: Star Rail.
What further content you can expect: In the new update, you will visit two new areas on Jarilo-VI with your Trailblazer:
- Old weapon testing ground
- Pillars of Creation
What awaits you in the new places is still unknown. But we know that there have been disputes between the already visited places.
The Universe Simulation
will also not be neglected in this update and will receive a new challenge called Endless Levels
.
In addition, a new event awaits you. This is called Aetherium War
and offers a new mode in which your character can control their own combat companions. Already known monsters will become your allies here.
