In Pokémon GO the Hoenn event has started! We show you the spawns, quests, raid bosses, and the new shinies here.
What is the Hoenn event? This event is part of the Nostalgia Challenge and is now the 3rd event in this series. It runs until May 22 at 1:00 PM local time.
In the Hoenn event there are a lot of spawns from the 3rd generation and many changes have occurred in the game. We give you an overview.
Field Research, Shinies and Spawns – The Hoenn Event
These are the quests: A total of 9 new field researches await you during the Hoenn event. They all reward you with Pokémon from the 3rd generation:
- Trade a Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Trasla*
- Battle against another trainer
- Reward: Encounter with a Jungglut
- Evolve a Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Schneppke*
- Catch 3 Normal-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with an Eneco*
- Send 2 gifts
- Reward: Encounter with a Geckarbor*
- Give your buddy a snack
- Reward: Encounter with a Krebscorps
- Earn a heart with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with a Moorabbel
- Catch an Electric-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Schwalboss
- Play with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with a Loturzel*
The quests for Eneco and Schneppke are probably the best here. Eneco is the new shiny from the event, and Schneppke is rarely found outside of events or snow in the game. So if you need a shiny from here, you should focus on these quests.
These new shinies are available: The big highlight of the event is Shiny Eneco. The Pokémon appears for the first time as shiny, and every trainer will have to go on a shiny hunt here.
This week, there is also Shiny Pikachu with Rayquaza hat. The hat Pokémon is available again as shiny, and you only have this week to catch it.
Which Pokémon spawn during the event? This time it seems that the spawn rate has been slightly adjusted. The starters are a bit rarer, while other Pokémon come out much more frequently.
In sunny weather, Tuska is the most frequently encountered. However, there are also spawns of Eneco, Sengo, Schmerbe, Meditie, Spoink, or Waumpel. Even Nincada can be caught in the wild.
However, Vipitis cannot be encountered here. It remains a regional Pokémon, and here in Germany, you can only catch Sengo.
All Raid Bosses for the Hoenn Event
These are the bosses: The new raid bosses are mostly from the 3rd generation, and some of these monsters can be shiny:
| Raid Level | Raid Boss |
| Level 1 (pink egg) | Praktibalk* Klikk* Geckarbor* Hydropi* Flemmli* Wablu* Zwirrlicht* |
| Level 2 (pink egg) | Barschwa* Kirlia Roselia* Zobiris* Flunkifer* Nasgnet |
| Level 3 (yellow egg) | Noctuska Banette Lepumentas Alola-Raichu* Hariyama |
| Level 4 (yellow egg) | Absol* Metagross Meditalis Walraisa |
| Level 5 (black egg) | Viridium* |
Which raid bosses are worth it? In the 1 and 2 star raids, there are many possible shinies that are worth it. From a usability perspective, Praktibalk is always a good choice since its evolution Meistagrif is one of the best fighting attackers in the game.
Additionally, Roselia and Metagross are also worthwhile. They and their evolution are also top attackers.
For the PvP league, Meditalis, Alola-Raichu, and Zobiris are also recommended. They are all included in the tier list for the PvP league.
