Bungie has probably given us a hint and revealed which 3 weapon exotics in Destiny 2 Beyond Light will finally receive their upgrade to Masterwork including catalyst.
Here’s the hint: Bungie is releasing information about the upcoming Beyond Light expansion gradually, which is set to be released on November 10. The last TWaB actually focused on the revamp of titles and triumphs, but the material shown from the expansion contained exciting hints.
In the revised menu, there is a tab for exotic catalysts. The card is decorated with images of weapon exotics. 3 of the guns listed there currently do not have such a catalyst.
Since Bungie loves to hide such hints in advance and let the Guardians puzzle over them, this is likely not a coincidence or a placeholder. See for yourself:

The image features many weapon exotics that have had their individual Masterwork catalyst for a long time.
These 3 exotics are new to the Masterwork club:
- Leviathan’s Breath: The heavy bow is the only representative of its kind that requires Power Ammo. The arrows hit so hard that they create an explosion and knock back enemies – Unfortunately, the weapon is not very popular due to competition in the power slot.
- Deathbringer: The rocket launcher is actually more of a mortar. After firing, the projectiles fly high into the air and then seek out their prey on their own.
- Inheritance Appearance is a Gatling gun that deals damage quickly and protects the bearer with a shield – The hefty Cabal weapon is already quite popular.
Whether the shown exotic upgrades will be available right at the launch of Beyond Light is something we don’t know yet. It would be desirable, though, as the catalysts can turn forgotten guns into real killer weapons in no time.
