In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Switch & Xbox One), unintentionally swastikas are formed when you build certain structures. Therefore, Epic wants to remove the Nazi symbol immediately.
Swastikas in Fortnite? Fortnite is actually a colorful battle royale shooter and not a dark shooting game with Nazis like Wolfenstein. Nonetheless, swastikas have been hidden in Fortnite so far.
However, the swastikas are unintentionally present in the game. They occur when you arrange certain floor tiles in a specific way.
How does the swastika occur in Fortnite?
A Reddit user named EuBestCityEu wanted to create a dance floor in Fortnite. To do this, he created a “round” metal floor by connecting four metal surfaces and rounding the corners.
Oops, a swastika! As soon as the construction was finished, one of his teammates noticed something: A swastika that had formed exactly in the middle of the floor. There, some edges and indentations come together so unluckily that four individual angles create exactly one swastika!
Epic steps in
The players around EuBestCityEu immediately took a screenshot of the bizarre construct and uploaded it to Reddit. The swastika was extensively discussed there. It didn’t take long for the development studio Epic Games to get involved.
Epic, as always, quick to respond: The Fortnite developers are known for being very close to the community. This was once again confirmed in this case. Epic was previously unaware of the swastika and said they would remove it from the game as quickly as possible.
By the next patch, the Nazi symbol should be gone: Instead, the transitions between four beveled metal floor panels should now look like a huge, warped puzzle piece. You can no longer recognize any Nazi symbolism there.
