In Fortnite, the start of the new Season 7 is approaching, which could bring some changes and cool features. MyMMO author Eilyn Rapp, however, is worried about something completely different, as she fears that the poor banana Schali will be tortured again in the next trailer.
What kind of banana is that? In Chapter 1 Season 8 of Fortnite the theme was tropics and pirates. Since the setting was tropical, there was a skin in the then Battle Pass which was a humanoid banana – the first version of the skin, before many other variations appeared.
The banana “Schali” has now become an integral part of Fortnite, essentially like a mascot that everyone should know. Schali frequently appears in trailers, especially when a new season is announced. The Fortnite fans seem to have a soft spot for the banana – at least that’s how I feel, because I like seeing Schali and think he is one of the coolest characters in Fortnite.
Poor Schali has already been through a lot
This is the sad story of Schali: We got to know the banana better when it was shown in the trailer for Season 9 how Schali and Jonesy became friends and stayed in a bunker together. At first, the two friends had a great time, but then the provisions ran out – Jonesy saw no other solution and made a smoothie out of the dear, innocent banana.
That was already the first death of Schali, which was quite abstract and creepy. But that was not the end, because later Schali returned from the dead. Actually cool, because the sweet mascot was back and he lived! But he came back as a zombie version – half skeleton, and you could even see his guts. Really, Fortnite? That’s quite creepy, knowing the story.
If you think that this would be enough torment for the poor banana, you are basically right, but the developers show no mercy. At the start of Season 6 – Chapter 2, Schali was seen again in the trailer – he waved friendly to his friend Jonesy while he was trying to save the Fortnite world. But then the poor banana was hit in the middle of the battle and simply exploded before our eyes. Seriously Fortnite, what do you have against the sweet, innocent banana?!
The next fate could await the banana
What could be next for Schali? The start of Season 7 is approaching, and so is the trailer that will present the season. Data miners are already busy looking for clues about the next season and have already found some – it is suspected that aliens will play a larger role.
But what does that have to do with the banana? Well, Schali usually appears in the trailers for a new season and experiences his sad, brutal fates there – it doesn’t seem unlikely that he could also appear here again. The data miner HYPEX found a sign that can be discovered on the Fortnite map and is supposed to give another clue about the next season (via Twitter).
Now you can guess what is on the sign: Yes, exactly, Schali being chased by aliens. Should this actually happen, we might soon see how the poor banana has to experience its next sad fate. I’m already scared, because I like Schali and don’t want to see him always suffer. Really, Fortnite, just stop torturing the banana, it hasn’t done anything to you!
If you like Schali as much as I do, then we can only hope that he won’t soon be chased or abducted by aliens. But we will probably see what bizarre torture Fortnite has come up with this time for the poor mascot. The story of Fortnite has already shown many characters – who is your favorite?
