The aging Free2Play MMORPG Lord of the Rings Online has big plans for 2016. It’s slowly coming to the decisive battle.
The head of Lord of the Rings Online has addressed the fans in a letter before Christmas.
What happened in Lord of the Rings Online in 2015
In 2015, a lot was accomplished, but unfortunately not everything that was planned. The move to a new server center with fresh hardware didn’t work out as the operating systems need to be switched to 64-bit, and a new chat solution is needed.
In the context of the game, a new shop was introduced in 2015, and the merger of servers to 10 servers was carried out. In Lord of the Rings Online itself, the focus was primarily on Gondor, with two updates introducing the cities Osgiliath and Minas Tirith and establishing the new storyline there.
This is the beginning of the battle on the Pelennor Fields, as interpreted by Hollywood:
Plans for 2016
In 2016, the great battle on the Pelennor Fields will be introduced, and players will face the enemy at the Black Gate. Not only fans of the novels should look forward to these events, as they were also highlights from the 3rd Lord of the Rings film “The Return of the King.” The MMORPG is slowly approaching its finale. The license is still valid until 2017.
Additionally, a new instance group and a raid for 12 players will come with the battle on the Pelennor. The maximum level will increase to 105, and “collections” will be introduced, similar to the item sets from other games. It will begin with “Gestures”, the emotes.
So, what do you think? Will 2016 be the second to last year for Lord of the Rings Online?
