TOO EARLY to rejoice – Ragnaros from Heroes of the Storm is being nerfed shortly after release. We have his changes.
Just a week ago, the latest hero Ragnaros was introduced into the Nexus of Heroes of the Storm, and now the first nerf is here. In a mini-patch, Blizzard made some changes last night (12/20/2016) that are supposed to rein in the Lord of the Fire Lands. The developers state:
“With Ragnaros entering the Nexus, it has become clear again how much it hurts to stand in the fire. Lava Wave and Molten Core are currently the strongest abilities of the newly added raid boss, which is why we are making changes primarily here. We are keeping a close eye on his balance on the individual battlefields and are prepared to make further changes if necessary.”
HotS: Ragnaros is in the fire too much – Here’s how the Fire Lord is being weakened
In detail, there are the following changes to Ragnaros:
- The damage of Sulfuras’ Might has been reduced by approximately 5%.
- The damage of Living Meteor has been reduced by 4%.
- The cooldown of Lava Wave has been increased from 100 to 120 seconds and the damage reduced from 86 to 60.
The trait “Molten Core”, with which Ragnaros takes over forts, has also been revised and weakened:
- The cooldown of Molten Core has been increased from 100 to 120 seconds.
- The damage of Molten Swing, Meteor Shower, and Explosive Rune has been reduced by 5% each.
Furthermore, Artanis’ shield points have been slightly increased, Diablo loses 1/3 of the talent Soul Shield (protection against abilities), and the talent Hell Gate now has a cooldown of 90 seconds (previously 70).
You can find the complete changes, including small bug fixes, in our sources.
Cortyn says: While I can understand most of the changes – as Ragnaros was indeed very strong – I find the adjustment of Lava Wave to be exaggerated. The ability is only useful when opponents are inattentive or bound, as one can completely avoid it with a little attention.
Those who fail to dodge in time should say goodbye to a good part of their health points. I believe it won’t be long before complaints about this change appear in the forums. But maybe it is also still TOO EARLY to complain. DIE, INSECT. – Sorry.
HotS has issues with eSports. We wonder why no one wants to watch Heroes of the Storm.
