A new video shows the upcoming hero Kharazim from Blizzard’s MOBA Heroes of the Storm in action – and it can be quite diverse.
Kharazim is the next addition to Heroes of the Storm and joins the still quite thin roster of support heroes. He hails from the Diablo universe, has dedicated his life to the 1001 deities, and now strives to maintain divine balance. His unique feature in combat is his changing passive ability, which he can choose at the beginning of each match. Every third basic attack triggers an additional effect, such as critical hits, minor healing, or mana regeneration. But his other abilities are also exciting:
- Radiant Charge can be applied to both allies or enemies. The hero charges to his target and triggers (against an enemy) a basic attack. This ability has multiple charges and allows him to jump quickly across the field and even pass through walls.
- Breath of Heaven heals Kharazim and all nearby allied heroes and increases their movement speed for a few seconds. This is excellent for a chase – or a getaway.
- With deadly reach, Kharazim empowers himself, increasing both his attack speed and range. This, in turn, leads to his passive ability being used more often. The ability can be activated in advance and will only trigger once the next melee attack lands.
- The first ultimate ability Seven-sided Strike not only visually resembles Cloud from Final Fantasy VII but is also incredibly useful. The monk becomes invulnerable and strikes 7 times, with each attack targeting the enemy with the highest remaining health. Each hit deals damage equal to 7% of the enemy’s maximum HP – particularly effective against multiple warriors.
- His second ultimate ability is Divine Palm. It lasts for 3 seconds on an ally – if the ally dies during this time, they will be revived with a large portion of their health after a brief delay! In this case, opponents do not receive experience points because the hero was not actually “killed”.
If the leaked data is correct, Kharazim will grace us next week on August 19 and join the Nexus – along with further updates and balancing changes that will be made to the game.
