The Support Li Li

Li Li Stormstout is the niece of the Pandaren brewmaster Chen Stormstout. Together with her uncle, she traveled the world for a long time, ultimately discovering the continent of Pandaria, where players first come into contact with her. Despite her young age, she is a skilled martial artist, and her wild style earned her the nickname “Wild Dog” Li Li.
In HotS, Li Li serves as a support, meaning she brings healing to the front lines, empowers her allies, and weakens opponents to turn the tide of battle in favor of her team. Thanks to her numerous defensive abilities, she often escapes from tight situations.
Li Li’s Abilities at a Glance
- Swift Feet (Passive) – When Li Li takes damage, her movement speed temporarily increases by 10%.
- Healing Brew – Heals an allied hero within range. Automatically targets the most injured hero.
- Cloud Serpent – Summons a protective cloud serpent on the targeted allied hero. The serpent attacks nearby enemies, dealing damage, and remains active for 8 seconds.
- Blinding Wind – Hurls projectiles at up to two enemies, prioritizing heroes. The hit heroes receive minor damage and are blinded for 2 seconds, causing all their basic attacks to miss.
- Brew of a Thousand Sips – Heals all allies in the area over 6 seconds, prioritizing the most wounded hero.
Recommended Talents for Li Li in Heroes of the Storm
Almost all selected talents improve the Cloud Serpent. While primarily it is responsible for a little damage, it gains healing properties through a talent (level 4). The damage from the cloud serpent is often underestimated and can be the deciding factor in achieving victory. Particularly from level 16, its usefulness doubles again. Upgrading Blinding Wind serves a dual purpose: it allows you to track down enemies better or ensures that you can easily escape from a hopeless situation.
Li Li’s Primary Playstyle – Stick a Finger on Q
Generally, the rule for Li Li is: Whenever you can use Healing Brew to heal an allied hero, do it. During a fight, you should keep this ability on cooldown permanently. The same goes for all abilities, really. You can play relatively solidly with her even if you just “randomly” hammer the ability buttons. As you gain experience, however, you should use Blinding Wind more strategically to protect friends or prevent enemies from escaping. With the skill setup chosen above, Li Li is almost unbeatable in a 1vs1 early in a match, as she can often heal faster than assassins can deal damage. However, this changes dramatically after level 10; from then on, you must proceed with caution.
Tips for Li Li
Use Brew of a Thousand Sips only when the enemies have already spent their stuns or when you have a bit of distance from the foes. Stunning interrupts the ability prematurely, causing most of its effect to fizzle out! It’s best to stay behind your teammates; then the brew reaches its maximum effectiveness.
