Developers are still working on the matchmaking of Heroes of the Storm. This can lead to longer wait times, among other things.
Improvements in the Professional Area
Since the release of Heroes of the Storm, players have been regularly complaining about the opaque matchmaking system. Although Blizzard has already taken many steps to make the gaming experience as fun and exciting as possible, there are still numerous frustrated players who frequently encounter opponents against whom they have no chance at all. In an upcoming patch, there will again be small changes that should ensure significantly more balanced matches for all players.
The maximum waiting time will be increased from 5 to 10 minutes. This is the time given to the system to find a “most suitable” group of opponents. If that fails, you will simply get the “next best” enemies, who also had to search for longer than 10 minutes. Following the motto: after 10 minutes, it’s better to have an unbalanced game than none at all.
This coincides with numerous small bug fixes and the change that the system not only takes into account a player’s rating (MMR) but also their overall playtime in HotS.
