Only a few noticed the little jab at IGN from Heroes of the Storm over the weekend …
1:0 for Blizzard
Blizzard is really not a corporation that gets upset about critical reviews for long. On the one hand, because they typically do not comment on press evaluations and on the other hand, because a defensive stance usually draws more attention to a negative article.
A little bit of Anonymous is definitely present in Blizzard, at least the part with “We never forget”. The creators of Heroes of the Storm have certainly not forgotten that they received only a meager rating of 6.5/10 from IGN. The site had predicted that the game would have little chance in the MOBA market almost half a year ago.
In the trailer of the new arena mode, Blizzard has now struck back and referenced the previous rating. Make sure to look closely at second 50.
So, did you see it? Here is the image in question:

I personally like this kind of “critique of the critics”; it is humorous without anyone really feeling offended. This action is also strongly reminiscent of Bungie’s approach to Destiny critics, especially Polygon, which only gave the online shooter 6 out of 10 possible points.
