Blizzard’s MOBA “Heroes of the Storm” is enjoying great popularity in beta. The financial call revealed some numbers.
During Activision Blizzard’s financial call, the slowly maturing MOBA “Heroes of the Storm” came up. There are currently few hard numbers. But what they are telling shareholders sounds like a hit. 11 million players have registered for the beta. That’s quite a number.
The game will be released on June 2. They promoted the “Heroes of the Dorm” event to investors. It was broadcast in prime time by the US sports network ESPN2: The first time the sports network aired a college eSports event. 460 schools from Canada and the USA participated in the event.
That it didn’t go so well for an ESPN reporter didn’t get mentioned, of course.
