How to get the Hellfire Torch – Here’s how
How do I get the torch? To obtain the Hellfire Torch, you must complete the “Pandemonium Event”. At the end of it, there is a battle against the so-called Uber-bosses, which are even used as benchmarks by speedrunners.
First of all, you need to reach the difficulty level “Hell”. You can’t do that in the first playthrough. Here you need to farm keys, three copies each from three different keys:
- Key of Terror from the Countess in Act 1, Black Marsh, Forgotten Tower Level 5
- Key of Hate from the Summoner in Act 2, Secret Refuge
- Key of Destruction from Nihlathak in Act 5, Halls of Pain, Halls of Vaught
The drop rate is quite low. Play in a team to increase your chances of getting a key.
You need to combine these 3 keys in the Horadric Cube while you are in Harrogath (Act 5) on Hell difficulty. This will open portals where you can find the Uber-bosses.
How do I complete the event? You should open all 3 portals in the same game, as the selection is random. This guarantees you will reach all 3 required areas:
- Matron’s Den: Here you will find Lilith (or: Uber-Andariel). You need Diablo’s Horn from her.
- Forgotten Sands: Here you will find Uber-Duriel. You need Baal’s Eye from him.
- Forge of Pain: Here you will find Uber-Izual. You need Mephisto’s Brain from him.
The bosses are a great challenge. It’s best to learn their patterns and abilities from their “normal” versions. Once you have found the 3 organs, you need to combine them again in the cube. This will open a portal to Uber-Tristram. In the center of the city, Uber-Baal, Uber-Mephisto, and Pandemonium-Diablo are waiting.
You must defeat these 3 bosses simultaneously. They are the biggest challenge in the game, so prepare well. As a reward, the Hellfire Torch awaits you.
