What is the Icons Challenge? In the Blackout mode, you need to find four characters from previous Black Ops games for the Icons Challenge. You will find them by completing sometimes absurd tasks in the game. We will explain what you need to do exactly to get these Specialist skins in Blackout in the following paragraphs.
How to find Reznov
To get the grim Russian Reznov, you need to find his famous hat.
The requirement for the Specialist: Search at the wells of Estates, Asylum, and the red statue at Raid for a Ushanka hat and keep it in your inventory.
The challenges for Reznov: Once you have the cap, you need to kill an enemy at “Extreme Range.” This means any distance of 200 meters or more. Once you have the kill, you need to survive long enough to finish in at least the Top 5 for Solos, Top 3 for Duos, and Top 2 for Quad teams.
How to get Mason
To get the CIA agent Mason, you first need to unlock Reznov and also play in the challenge.
The requirement for the Specialist: First, as Reznov, find a “dirty white T-shirt” from a supply drop.
The challenges for Mason: Once you have the shirt, you need to “wake the sleeper agent.” To do this, go to the location “Array” and activate the “Emergency Broadcast” button in the transmission tower. Then, you just need to finish among the Top 3 in Solo, Top 2 in Duo, and as a winner in Quad to get Mason.
How to get Raul Menendez
For this notorious villain, you need brutal melee skills.
The requirement for the Specialist: First, find a necklace with a pendant in a supply drop.
The challenges for Menendez: After that, you need to complete the following tasks in the same match with the pendant in your inventory:
- Kill an enemy with a shotgun
- Kill an enemy in melee
Ideally, you should get the perk “Brawler” for the last task, as it will increase your melee damage.
How to obtain Frank Woods
Sergeant Frank Woods has a particularly fast-paced and tricky challenge.
The requirement for the Specialist: First, find Woods’ bandana. You can find it at the helicopter spawn point north of the shooting range on the Blackout map.
The challenges for Frank Woods: With the bandana in your inventory, you then need to fly around in a helicopter for about a minute. After that, you need to win the game, and the Specialist skin is yours!
