After long weeks and months of waiting, we now know when the Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara for World of Warcraft will finally go live. This important WoW update arrives next week, on June 26th.
Patch 8.2 of WoW has been active on the test server for several weeks, and almost all content has been tested thoroughly. Now that the final tweaks are completed, the patch has received a release date.
Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara will be released on June 26, 2019.
What’s in Patch 8.2? Update 8.2 is likely to be one of the largest patches World of Warcraft has ever seen. It brings two completely new areas, namely Nazjatar and Mechagon.
While Nazjatar is primarily focused on the story around the Naga and Azshara, there is plenty to farm in Mechagon. Toys and other rewards await there.
For many players, the highlight will be that with Patch 8.2, they can finally unlock flying in Kul Tiras and Zandalar. Additionally, there will be a variety of new mechanics, such as a companion system and brand new abilities for the Heart of Azeroth.
How to start the pre-download: To ensure that you can start immediately on release day, you should activate the background download now. This way, the Battle.net launcher can download patches that are not live yet. So, only a few data need to be downloaded on release day, and a long waiting time will be avoided. The background download has not started yet.
- Select “Settings” in the Battle.net launcher
- Go to “Installation & Updates” and scroll down to “Game Updates”
- Check the option “Keep the latest updates for recently played games and download data for future updates”
- Set the amount of data in both points for “Network Bandwidth” to 0 (unlimited)
Now the Battle.net launcher will download the latest patch data as early as possible.
Are you excited for Patch 8.2? What will you do first after the release? Or would you rather wait for WoW Classic in August?
