The Surge 2
The Surge 2 is a Souls-like of a different kind. Instead of going into a medieval setting, it takes you into the future where humans and robots are at war. You have a mission to fulfill, but this is hindered by a plane crash. With your created character, you must now reorient yourself and find your target to fulfill your mission.
What sets The Surge 2 apart is the bloody gameplay. In battles against human enemies, body parts fly around, and not in a splatter manner, but very realistically. This creates a satisfying feeling when fighting and represents the highlight of the game.
Although the combat system is bloodier, the fights feel slower and heavier than in Dark Souls – every attack must be well thought out. As for weapons, there are various classes, but all can only be used in close combat – there are no ranged weapons like rifles or pistols, despite the futuristic setting.
